Five-piece San Fransisco folk/rock/bluegrass outfit, The Brothers Comatose released their new single “Home Again” featuring singer-songwriter Lindsay Lou on Wednesday.
Released exclusively to the Bandcamp platform ahead of a scheduled release to streaming services in February, “Home Again” was directly inspired by a situation in which individuals close to the band were dealing with immense loss as a result of a fire in the Santa Cruz mountains years ago. As such, The Brothers Comatose have opted to release the song in the wake of the tragic wildfires which have recently impacted so many in the Los Angeles.
Band members have expressed a profound sadness for those affected by these disastrous occurrences, and will be donating proceeds from the song’s Bandcamp release – including all sales and downloads of the track – to the Musicares organization, which is currently directing its charitable efforts to providing assistance of those who have suffered as a result of the Los Angeles wildfires.
”We hope ‘Home Again’ can help in some way,” says The Brothers Comatose guitarist and vocalist, Ben Morrison. “We’re sad to see this happening all over again down in Los Angeles. Our hearts are broken by the destruction these fires are causing in our California communities.”
“Home Again” features Missouri-born singer-songwriter Lindsay Lou who has been in The Brothers Comatose’s orbit professionally for years. When seeking a vocal collaborator for the single, Morrison says that the band could think of no better choice than Lou.
”We first met Lindsay Lou many years ago when we opened for her at a pizza restaurant in Knoxville, TN. Over the years we’ve crossed paths all over the US, getting to collaborate at festivals and in videos,” he explains. “She’s one of our favorite singers and when the time came to find a duet partner for ‘Home Again,’ Lindsay came to mind right away.
“Home Again” is currently available to stream and purchase at The Brothers Comatose Bandcamp website.
