American musician Rikki Rockett, known as a founding member and drummer for 80s glam-rock band Poison, is back with a new single, “I Think I Love You” from his band, Rockett Mafia.

Released this week, “I Think I Love You” finds the newly introduced rock ensemble reimagining  the 1970 pop tune of the same name written for The Partridge Family by Tony Romeo. This sort of approach will reportedly be commonplace for the band, though listeners shouldn’t be surprised to hear some original material as well.

“This little band was created to have fun re-imagining, for the most part, 70’s cover songs, but not the usual batch that you’d expect,” said Rockett of the lineup, which features Bryan Kimes on bass, Mick Sweda of Bulletboys on guitar and vocals, and Brandon Gibbs of Devil City Angels on guitar and vocals.

“However, do not discount original material,” the drummer continued. “Brandon and Mick both are powerhouses.”

Rockett appeared as a guest on host Eddie Trunk’s Trunk Nation radio show this week to premier the new single, which was recorded by Rockett Mafia and was mixed by Rae DiLeo.

Additionally, Rockett Mafia – also known as the R-Mob, have already booked a number of shows to present the new lineup and material to audiences. These have included dates in Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Hollywood, California’s The Whiskey a Go Go.

Prior to the formation of Rockett Mafia, singer and guitarist Brandon Gibbs was involved in the supergroup Devil City Angels which also featured Rockett, along with members of classic bands Cinderella and L.A. Gunns. Gibbs would also join Poison, Mötley Crüe, and Def Leppard as part of the bands’ hugely successful Stadium Tour in 2022.
