THE SCARLET GOODBYE – EL CAMINO ADIOS

Minnesota-based singer-songwriter duo, The Scarlet Goodbye released their sophomore album today, El Camino Adios. In additional to preceding singles “Speedway,” “To Feel the Sun,” and “Raylene,” the group’s latest effort offers a variety of highly listenable, thoughtful rock music that weaves in and out of different stylistic and artistic approaches.

Dan and Jeff recently sat down with Digital Wax to discuss the production and recording of the album in a conversation which can be heard at the Digital Wax YouTube page. El Camino Adios is out now via TLG/Virgin Records.

LITTLE FEAT – “TOO HIGH TO CUT MY HAIR”

Legendary American rock band Little Feat returned this week with a brand new single, “Too High to Cut My Hair.” What’s more, it was revealed that the tune is but the first of many from the group, the career of which dates all the way back to the late 1960s. Strike Up the Band is set to hit stores in May and will be the first original, full-length release from the band in over a decade.

“[2024’s Sam’s Place] gave us all the chance to tighten up as a band and re-visit the Rosetta Stone of rock and roll, The Blues,” said Little Feat vocalist Scott Sharrard of the background of Strike Up the Band. “We have paid a lot of dues to get here, and all roads have led us to this new album.”

Strike Up the Band will be available on May 9, 2025, through Hot Tomato Records.

KENDRA MORRIS – “IN MY HOUSE”

Singer and songwriter Kendra Morris marked her return this week with the release of a brand new single, “In My House” along with an accompanying music video. Recorded in Loveland, Ohio and co-produced by Morris herself and Leroy Conroy, “In My House” brings a wide array of influences to the table from soul music and doo-wop to hip-hop and more.

“I can’t really be the find peace until my messes are cleaned up, but they are necessary to me being the person that I am,” says Morris in speaking on the origins of the single, which draws parallels between the physical clutter of a residence and the mental clutter of unaddressed issues and/or anxieties.

“They both can get pretty messy,” she says. “However, they’re all my own and I get to take a step back, see them for what they are and then clean up and move forward.”

”In My House” is out now through Colemine/Karma Chief Records.

Combining a vintage-leaning analog sound and personal, heartfelt lyricism, the new single continues Marcus I meets aDUBta’s collective exploration of reggae and dub music. “Listen Up My Son” is now available to stream and purchase.
