GA-20 – “STRANGER BLUES”

GA-20 have released the latest single from the band’s forthcoming GA-20 EP Volume 2, “Stranger Blues,” which features the notable slide guitar talents of lead singer Cody Nilsen.

Stranger Blues” picks up where previous singles “Cryin’ & Pleadin’” and “I Love You, I Need You” left off, throwing it back to the golden age of American blues while continuing to shape the GA-20 sound in the modern day.

ANDREW GABBARD – & ON! (BONUS CUTS FROM ‘RAMBLE & RAVE ON!’)

Multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Andrew Gabbard released a new EP this week, & On! (Bonus Cuts from ‘Ramble & Rave On!’). The four previously unreleased tracks comprising the project are pulled from the sessions for Gabbard’s latest full-length project, Ramble & Rave On!

Released on the Colemine/Karma Chief Records imprint, On! (Bonus Cuts from ‘Ramble & Rave On!’) finds the songwriter characteristically laying down all the instruments on all tracks, including a soulful take on The Impressions’ “Don’t Let It Hide.”

BRANDON WOODY – “WISDOM; TERRACE ON ST. PAUL ST.”

Trumpeter Brandon Woody has released a new single, “Wisdom; Terrace on St. Paul St.” as part of the lead-up to his debut album for Blue Note Records.

At nearly seven minutes in length, “Wisdom; Terrace on St. Paul St.” is in no hurry to get in and out the door, really taking its time to bring in the full ensemble and flexing its proverbial muscles stylistically once things really get going. The track is currently available to stream on all major platforms.

JOHN SPLITHOFF – FAR FROM HERE

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist John Splithoff released his latest album, Far From Here on Friday, following up on the infectious pre-release singles “Plateau” and “Same Page.” Far From Here is heavy on both harmonic nuance and production value. The record’s 12-song set presents a highly accessible sound while offering tons of fun, musical touches that demonstrate the singer’s own background in the jazz world.

The songwriting throughout is worth noting as well, with each tune bringing with it its own story and distinct narrative. The subject matter throughout in conjunction with the punchy and smooth sound make for an Adult Contemporary project of the highest order. Far From Here is available now to purchase and stream through Virgin Records.
