West Coast soul band, The Charities have announced the upcoming release of a brand new 7” vinyl 45 for the tracks “Fatal Attraction” and “It’s Not Our Time.”

 

 

 

Side A of the upcoming release, “Fatal Attraction,” details the complexity of relationships with individuals who can bring out the worst in us. The lyrical protagonist themselves lost in the intensity of love, unable to make responsible and informed choices with regard to the darker characteristics of their partner, including narcissism, selfishness, and disregard for the plight of others.

 

When the partner in question also happens to captivating, charming, intelligent, and beautiful, cutting them loose for one’s own sake can be more easily said than done.

 

 

The B-Side to the 45, “It’s Not Our Time,” explores a relationship at a later stage than the one detailed in “Fatal Attraction.” The characters depicted here share a certain emotional intelligence, with both having come to the unfortunate realization that the time for their relationship to flourish is not now.

 

”It’s Not Our Time” lays out a bittersweet parting of ways between lovers in hopes that destiny may once again bring them together at some point further on down the road.

 

Both “Fatal Attraction” and “It’s Not Our Time” were recorded at Riverside California’s Penrose Recordings and were produced by Anthony Marino.

 

The pair of tracks will be released on 7” vinyl Friday, April 4, 2025, via Colemine Records. The singles are currently available for digital streaming and pre-order for the 45.
