THE SURE FIRE SOUL ENSEMBLE – GEMINI

West Coast (mostly) instrumental soul outfit, The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble has released a brand new, full-length album by the name of Gemini this week through Colemine Records.

The record’s release follows that of the group’s recent singles, Las Olas,” and title track, “Gemini,” both of which exhibit the group’s signature soulful harmonic stylings and arresting rhythms that lend a certain credence to the band’s unique moniker. Gemini is currently available to purchase and stream everywhere.

M ROSS PERKINS – “I FEEL SO DUMB”

The second single to be released from Ohio singer-songwriter M Ross Perkins’ upcoming album, What’s the Matter M Ross?, “I Feel So Dumb” is the follow-up to lead single, “I Don’t Wanna Be So High,” which hit the airwaves last month.

Both tracks will be featured as part of Perkins’ forthcoming full-length LP, scheduled for release on May 2, 2025, through Karma Chief/Colemine.

THE CHARITIES – “FATAL ATTRACTION”

Fellow west coast soul ensemble, The Charities issued up an exciting announcement of their own this week. Two of the band’s tracks, “Fatal Attraction” and “It’s Not Our Time” are set to see a special 7” vinyl 45 release next week.
With “Fatal Attraction” occupying the A-Side of the physical media, backed by “It’s Not Our Time,” fans will have a chance to get their hands on the disc beginning Friday, April 4, 2025. In the meantime, both tracks are currently available for streaming, and the 45 can be pre-ordered through Colemine Records.

CANYON LIGHTS – “BREATHE EASY”

Three-piece rock band Canyon Lights on Tuesday released a brand new single in the form of “Breathe Easy.
The track follows the release of preceding singles “Seventh Son” and “Let Me In.” The newest single from Canyon Lights’ upcoming debut album, “Canyon Lights” is available to stream now.

RECKONERS – “OUTTA LOVE”

Yet another Colemine Records artist has come through with new music in recent weeks. Rock and soul outfit, Reckoners have released “Outta Love,” and outtake track from the sessions for the band’s self-titled debut album, which hit shelves late last year.

“Outta Love” is now available to stream, but that’s only the beginning of the good news. Reckoners has also announced that their eponymous studio album will see release in the vinyl format. Additional details are available at the Colemine Records website.

Irish singer-songwriter CMAT released her newest single, “Running/Planning” this week. Complete with an evocative visual in the form of the single’s accompanying music video. The singer’s distinctly campy spin on the country, folk, and pop genres has brought her widespread attention, with CMAT recently having made waves with an appearance on Jools Holland’s Annual Hootenanny.

“Running/Planning” is the lead single for CMAT’s forthcoming album, EURO-COUNTRY, which is scheduled to be released in august. “Running/Planning” is available for streaming on all major platforms.
