Up-and-coming star vocalist in the realm of country–folk, Max McNown released his latest single “St. Helens Alpenglow” over the weekend.
Coinciding with the release of the single is the rollout of an accompanying music video through Fugitive Recordings/The Orchard/Columbia Records which accentuates the tune’s undertones of reflection and introspection.
Exploring the nature of lost love and grappling with feelings which remain unresolved upon the dissolution of an impactful relationship, “St. Helens Alpenglow” leans on thoughtful songwriting and guitar/banjo-based instrumentation to drive home its concept. Speaking of the writing process behind the tune, McNown says inspiration was drawn from the idea of individuals being shaped by their past experiences, even when those experiences prove to be less than permanent.
“For better or for worse, every relationship we’ve ever experienced has shaped us into the person we are today. The song ‘St. Helens Alpenglow’ serves as a reminder that just because a past love didn’t make it to the finish line, it doesn’t mean it was all for nothing,” the songwriter says. “There are pieces of one another that we carry far beyond the “end” of our romances. The “Alpenglow” represents those fragments of broken relationships, memories you look back on fondly and will always be grateful for.”
The single comes on the heels of McNown’s previous single, “Call Me If You Miss Me” released in March. Both tracks are available for streaming on major platforms.
Additionally, McNown will be taking the tunes on the road with a tour set to kick off early next month. A full list of upcoming performance dates for rising star Max McNown can be found below.
