Shinedown Kicks Off ‘Dance, Kid, Dance’ Tour in Des Moines

Shinedown has made massive waves in the rock scene this year with the release of highly successful singles and videos, and it has all been leading up the group’s monumental “Dance, Kid, Dance” tour, which kicked off on Friday in Des Moines, Iowa.

The 36-date run of shows will bring the alt-rock giants all over the country, delivering to fans eager to hear the band’s ever-expanding catalogue of hits both old and new. Fans at the Wells Fargo arena for the opening show were treated to defining cuts like “Second Chance” and their powerful cover of the Lynyrd Skynyrd classic, “Simple Man.”

Additionally, the band went deep into their backlog of songs to pull out one tune for the very first time in a live setting, “Thick as Thieves.” Additional deep cuts such as “Burning Bright,” “Asking for It,” and “Breaking Inside,” were performed, along with more recent favorites such as “Three Six Five,” “A Symptom of Being Human,” and the tour’s namesake, “Dance, Kid, Dance.”

The tour will serve as an extended victory lap of sorts, celebrating recent major successes for the band such as shattering Billboard Chart records, recognition from the iHeart Radio Awards, and multiple number-one singles.
