Trumpeter Brandon Woody has released a new single, “Wisdom; Terrace on St. Paul St.” The track serves as the second single to be shared from Woody’s forthcoming debut album for Blue Note RecordsFor the Love of It All.

“Wisdom; Terrace on St. Paul St.” follows the release of lead single “Real Love, Pt. 1” and features Woody’s Upendo band of with Troy Long on keyboards), Michael Saunders on bass, and Quincy Phillips on drums.

The track progresses through several distinct sections, including a distant-sounding introductory section which gradually materializes into articulate and precise musical passages, representing an ascent to clarity, understanding, and naturally, wisdom.

For the Love of It All will serve not only as the trumpeter’s debut for Blue Note Records, but his recording debut as a performer and artist as well. The label has described the project as innovative; uplifting, and powerful.

”With his debut on Blue Note Records, Woody positions himself as both an innovator and a griot, balancing technical mastery with a reverence for his roots,” says Blue Note of the upcoming release. “This album anchors itself in the past while reverberating forward, tethering listeners to something larger than themselves. In every track, love is palpable, not idealized, but complex, textured, and human.”

“Wisdom; Terrace on St. Paul St.” is currently available for listeners to stream on all major platforms. For the Love of It All is expected to see release through Blue Note Records on May 9, 2025.
